Arcevia's Castles

Perched on the spectacular Monte Cischiano, Arcevia dominates the pre-Apennine landscape of the Marche region from above. This experience is suitable for all travelers, from families to history and photography enthusiasts, offering a comfortable and evocative journey into the past.

Visiting Arcevia and its crown of fortifications means exploring a welcoming and authentic territory, ideal for a relaxing trip to discover breathtaking views and ancient medieval secrets.

A Journey Back in Time

The town of Arcevia is protected by a powerful 14th-century city wall, still entirely walkable in several spots and enriched by large towers and four ancient entry gates.

However, the true highlight of the territory is represented by its nine famous Castles: Avacelli, Castiglioni, Caudino, Loretello, Montale, Nidastore, Palazzo, Piticchio, and San Pietro. These are tiny inhabited settlements enclosed by medieval walls that have kept their original structure intact to this day.

Strolling through these quiet, hill-perched small villages offers an atmosphere of yesteryear and unique panoramic vistas stretching from the Apennines to the sea.
